The company is about to introduce its new bike Royal Enfield Meteor 350, which will replace the Thunderbird 350X. Now the latest information about the upcoming Meteor 350 bike has been leaked as to how its powertrain will be.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been launched in 3 variants like Fireball, Stellar and Supernova and launched in Yellow, ‌Black, and Red color. The price of the Base variant of Meteor is Rs 1,75,825/- and at the same time, the price of its top variant is Rs 1,90,536/-.

Royal Enfield’s cruiser lineup previously ruled the Thunderbirds, which was introduced in 2002, in many facelift avatars over the years.

However, the Thunderbird lineup was discontinued after the introduction of the BS6 emission standard. The company retired the name Thunderbird, that 18 years old production to be discontinued. This decision was taken because the company could sell only cruiser bikes in the international market due to this.

Engine and Performance:

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 features a new air-oil-cooled, single-cylinder of BS6 compliant 349 cc (SOHC) engine, which provides 20.4 bhp of power at 6100 rpm and 27 Newton meter of torque at 4000 rpm. It has a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.

Talking about its performance, it is much smoother than the UCE engine. SHOC has several advantages over older UCE units. This new engine uses fewer parts for the operation of valves. This fixes the opening and closing of the valves as the camshafts are placed on the engine head.

The result is also that the voice, vibration intensity decreases. Due to the fine valve movement, the mileage and performance are better than the old UCE engines. Apart from this, the new engine has a counterbalancer which has helped in reducing the vibration.

Where this engine has become very smooth, its torque has decreased by 1 Newton meter as compared to the UCE engine but power has increased by 0.4 bhp.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball variant will get all black parts with a single color fuel tank. The engine has been blacked out. On the other hand, many parts of the chrome bicycle have been given in the Steller variant. Handlebar, EFI cover, and exhaust system – all these parts have been used in chrome. A dual-tone paint scheme has been given in Supernova. Most of the things have been given in this new bike, including instrument cluster and switchgear.

Talking about switchgear, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has two circular dials on either side of the handlebar. The dial on the right is used for engine operation with an integrated start switch. While the dual headlamp on the left-hand side is used for operation, an integrated pass switch is also given. The bike also has a Hazard function that can be toggled with the button on the right. The buttons of the turn indicator are given on the left side along with the button of the horn, on the same side USB slot is provided, this allows mobile charging but only when the engine is on.

Instrument cluster:

The biggest change in the bike has been done in the instrument cluster, it is still a double pod cluster but the secondary display has the brand’s tripper navigation function.

The main cluster has an analog speedometer, as well as a small digital display which provides a lot of information. It gives information about gear indicator, odometer, and three trip reading, clock, fuel indicator, service reminder, and eco indicator. The main cluster has a high beam, turn signal, ABS malfunction, engine check light, low fuel, and low battery indicator.

The secondary instrument cluster has a small TFT color display. Tripper navigation applications can be connected with a smartphone, provided by Royal Enfield. It is available for both Android and iOS. After opening the application on the phone, you have to click on the Navigate feature, after which the phone can be added by following the instructions given on the screen. Royal Enfield has partnered with Google to bring this feature.

The design of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is kept the same as the cruiser bike. It has a folded fuel tank, attractive body panels, circular headlamps, tail lamps and turn indicators, and chrome in many places. The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is the company’s first 350 cc model designed on a double-cradle frame, replacing the single cradle frame, although it is still used in the brand’s 350 cc lineup. The double-cradle chassis makes the bike’s handling better. Royal Enfield Meteor 350 seems stable and balanced due to the new setup.

Talking about the suspension, this bike features a 41 mm telescopic unit at the front and a twin shock setup at the rear for 6-step adjustment for preload.

For braking, this bike has a 260 mm disc brake with front two-piston floating caliper and rear single-piston floating caliper. Dual-channel ABS has been given in the standard variant of this bike.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has 19-inch alloy wheels with 100/90 section tires in front and 140/70 section tires with 17-inch alloy wheels at the rear. Both tires are tubeless which makes the journey of a long journey even easier. The ground clearance of this bike has been kept at 170 mm. This can easily withstand on the road and speed bump of any area.

The price of the initial variant Fireball of Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is Rs 1,75,825/-. The Stellar variant price is at Rs 1,81,342/-. The top model variant Supernova price is at Rs 1,90,536/-.

The competition:

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is currently the most entry-level cruiser bike in the country. It competes with the Honda Highness CB 350, Benelli Imperial 400, and Java 300 Twins in the Indian market.
