Kolkata, Auto Desk: TVS launched the BS6 model of its flagship motorcycle TVS Apache RR 310. The TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 is priced @Rs 2.49 lakh. The price of this bike has increased by 12,000/- rupees as compared to the BS4 model. Apart from upgrading the bike to BS6, TVS has made some cosmetic changes to it. Also, many new features have been included.

The updated bike has a BS6 compliant, 312.2cc engine, which generates 34hp power at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm torque at 7,700rpm. The engine is equipped with a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch.

This luxurious bike offers 4 riding modes, including Sport, Track, Urban, and Rain. The power output, ABS interchange, and top speed are different in all modes. The company claims that the Apache RR 310 has a top speed of 160 km/h. At the same time, this amazing sports bike will take 2.9 seconds to catch the speed of 0 to 60 kilometers per hour.

TVS Apache RR 310 Engine:

The new bike TVS Apache RR 310 has a 312.2cc BS6 SI, 4 stroke, 4 valves, Single cylinder, Liquid-cooled, Reverse inclined, fuel injection (Bosch – Closed-loop RT-FI) engine. This engine produces Maximum Power Sport and Track mode – 25 kW@9700 engine rpm (34 PS@9700 engine rpm) and Urban and rain mode – 19 kW@7600 engine rpm (25.8 PS@7600 engine rpm). This engine produces Maximum Torque Sport and Track mode – 27.3 Nm@7700 engine rpm and Urban and rain mode – 25 Nm@6700 engine rpm. The engine has a 6-speed transmission and a spiller clutch is also given.

TVS Apache RR 310 Features:

Apache RR 310 features a new 5-inch color TFT instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity. Through the TVS Connect app, the user can operate several functions by connecting his smartphone to this display. This screen also shows information like incoming caller details, turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle health alert, and mobile phone status.

Apart from this fuel level, service due and any defect of ABS, battery level of mobile phone and network will also be seen. A sensor has been given on the screen, which automatically adjusts the day and night settings according to ambient lighting.

This TVS sports bike gets dual-projector LED headlamps and LED tail lamps. 300mm disc brakes have been provided in its front and 240mm in the rear. The bike is equipped with dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The updated Apache RR 310 offers new Michelin Road 5 tires, while the BS4 model used Michelin Pilot Streets tires.

Cosmetic update:

The TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 comes in a new dual-tone color, which a new black, gray, and red color scheme. Also, new graphics have been given on the bike, which makes its sporty look even more spectacular. Apart from this, the dimensions of the bike, dual projector LED headlamps, LED tail lamps and seats are the same.

New instrument console:

Major changes have been made to the bike regarding the instrument console. The updated bike has a new 5-inch full-color TFT instrument panel with Bluetooth. The console is equipped with a white backlight; with which you can easily read everything written on the screen. You can connect this screen to your smartphone and operate many functions through the TVS Connect app. One can see turn-by-turn navigation on this screen. If a call is coming on your phone, the details of the caller will appear on it. Also, the facility to receive or reject the phone is also available in it.

The new instrument console also displays vehicle health alert (fuel level, service due, and ABS malfunction) and mobile phone status (battery level and network). A sensor has been given on the screen, which automatically adjusts day and night settings according to ambient lighting.

New technology in Bike:

Ride-by-wire technology has been given in the new TVS Apache RR 310. Along with this, it offers 4 riding modes – Urban, Track, Sport, and Rain. The new bike is equipped with a next-generation Smart Connect system. It is typical that it connects the bike to riding telemetry with Bluetooth connectivity. TVS has given glide through technology to the bike which is for the first and second gear. With the help of this, the bike rider had to work harder to drive the bike in the traffic conditions. The riding modes given in the bike are given different themes and the antilock braking system can also be selected according to the mode.

New Easy Ride Mode:

TVS has given ride-by-wire technology in BS6 Apache RR 310 with four riding modes (Rain, Urban, Sport, and Track). The power of the engine, throttle, and ABS settings change depending on the mode of riding. The theme of the display of the bike instrument panel also changes according to the mode of riding. With this feature, the bike can be run at a slow speed without pressing the clutch, which reduces the fatigue of the rider during traffic.

TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 Price:

TVS has increased the prices of many of its Apache series bikes. This link also includes the BS6 compliant TVS Apache RR 310. The company launched its bike with an update in the month of January this year, for the first time since then its prices have increased. The BS6 Apache RR 310 has now become Rs 12000/- more expensive than the before BS4 model in the Indian market. Its Kolkata ex-showroom price is now Rs 2.49 lakh.

This segment still has the Apache RR 310 Value for Money bike, which is cheaper by Rs. 17000/- than the KTM RC390. Fully Fired Apache was launched by the company with the BS6 version and new technology. Compared to the old model, many new features have been given in it.

Indian market TVS Apache RR 310 has direct competition with KTM RC 390. Even after the increase in the price of this TVS Apache RR 310, is Rs. 17000/- rupees cheaper than KTM RC 390. Now, the KTM RC 390 starting price in Kolkata @Rs 2.66 lakh.

Our Verdict:

The updated 2020 TVS Apache RR 310 is priced @Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Kolkata). It is now Rs 12,000/- more than the old BS4 model. Apart from the BS6 engine, the company has added the latest technology and electronics, due to which it comes with a great package in the entry-level 200 cc to 400 cc sports bike segment. The Apache RR 310 has always been known for its sharp styling, performance, and high-quality motorcycle and competes with the KTM RC 390, priced @Rs 2.66 lakh. If you buy the new Apache RR 310, then it is offering much more features and new electronics, and powerful performance than the KTM RC 390 BS6 model.
